Whether you want to remove cooking oil or body oil form leather, you will only need two basic items. To remove oil stains from your leather shoes, we recommend starting with some talcum powder and a lint free or microfiber cloth.
If you don't have any talcum powder, you can also opt for wheat germ or corn starch to remove grease from leather.

The first thing you need to do when removing oil stains from shoes is to remove the stain immediately. Never let oil sit on your leather shoes for an extended amount of time. Oil and grease should never sit on any type of material be it leather or fabric. If left for too long, the oil can eventually destroy the material or leave a stain.

Blot the oil stain with a cloth, with the aim of getting it all off of your shoe. This process will help you to get rid of as much of the oil as you can.

Then, cover the oil stain with the talcum powder. Leave the powder on your shoe through then night.

After the powder has sat on the oil stain over night, it should have drawn out all of the oil out of the leather. All you have to do now is brush off the powder with a soft brush and the stain should completely disappear.

If there is a still a remnants of the oil stain on your shoes, you can repeat the process again. Getting stains out of your leather shoes is quite easy! All you have to do is make sure you repeat this process as much as possible.

If you're wondering how to remove old oil stains from leather bag, you can use this same process. If, for whatever reason, you don't have any talcum powder, you can also opt for a little liquid detergent distilled in water.
Are you looking for a home remedy to remove body oil from leather or a homemade leather degreaser? Try this:
- A tablespoon of baking powder.
- Half a teaspoon of white powder.
- 3/8 cup of water
- And a pinch of salt.
Mix the ingredients well until it forms a paste, and do a material test. Sometimes, due to colorants in the leather, this mixture can damage the dye, so be careful. Gently rub the paste onto the grease stain and then pat the area dry.
